Raniseptin-1 is an antimicrobial peptide found in Hypsiboas raniceps (skin secretion, Chaco tree frog, South America, Hyla roeschmanni), and has antibacterial activity against the gram-negative bacteria E. coli, P. aeruginosa and X. citri (MIC <2 µM), and the gram-positive bacterium S. aureus. It does not have hemolytic activity against human erythrocytes.
